Hosted by Jeremiah and Jennifer England
Witches, ghosts, spells, bloody gore, murder. . . why yes, we’re talking about Macbeth! “The Bard" had a lot of God-given insight into the human condition and the topics of pride, ambition, guilt, losing loved ones, grief, malice, hatred, self worth, meaninglessness, and the inevitability of death. All of these are hauntingly portrayed in Macbeth and still resonate today.
Join us as we huddle around a fire enjoying soup, chili and hot drinks while exploring the darker side of the Christian imagination through reading/performance and discussion of this play.
No rehearsals or memorization required. This is a reading performance. No talent or experience necessary. Just give it your all!
Everyone age 16 and above will be cast. Children ages 8-15 may come to play with our daughters during the production.
We will have a short discussion time after each Act to explain the nuances of what is going on and set the scenes to come. If you have had trouble getting lost with Shakespeare in the past, this is a great way to enjoy and understand the play.
