Just for fun…on February 10 (raincheck date Feb 17 if too many people get sick or the weather is bad!), Anselm’s directors Brian and Christina Brown will be hosting an interactive murder mystery cocktail party, featuring an original story by Sarah Pottenger and “gamified” by Matthew Mellema, Christina Brown, and Gianna Soderstrom!
Anselm Society members: check here for your 25% off discount code if you’ve forgotten it.
This will be a fully interactive/immersive cocktail party experience in the "murder mystery dinner" tradition. You'll be assigned a role and you'll role-play that character all evening.
Based on availability, you can let us know your preference for:
A Lead Role (the main characters who will have more plot-centric roles and therefore more visible role-playing/"acting"),
A Supporting Role (the supporting cast; still role-playing involved but fewer high-visibility moments--better if you're feeling a little less confident with your role-playing/acting skills!), or
A Background Role (for those who want to come but who'd prefer to be spectators--you'll still role-play a character, but won't need to stress out about high-profile moments)
Important things to know:
Once tickets are sold out, we'll let you know the role assignments (including your character's background and costume suggestions) and driving directions (host home is in the downtown Colorado Springs area).
Each person is responsible for supplying their own costume (yes, we understand most grownups don't have costumes lying around; relax--but we'll give you some suggestions for props you might have lying around or could easily get at a thrift store, and the overall effect should be quite nice!).
Your ticket purchase represents a good-faith commitment to come unless something truly serious prevents it--we're counting on you! If you become ill or have a truly unavoidable issue come up, please let us know immediately so we can rearrange the cast and/or let people in off the waitlist.
Please keep February 17 blocked on your calendar; if a critical mass of major roles get sick or there's a snowstorm, we may reschedule for that date.
