“Believe me, you never know the best about men till you know the worst about them.”--- G. K. Chesterton (from The Man Who Knew Too Much)
Reserve your seat at the table for the first in a series of dinner discussions around genre short stories! We’re calling it Feasting on Fiction.
Feasting on Fiction is a series of occasional literary dinners centered on discussing short stories from one genre and why we love them (or don’t!). Future dinners may explore the themes of fantasy, comedy, science fiction, mystery, historical fiction, adventure or spy tales, or even horror and romance!
At our inaugural gathering we will be investigating the detective story genre.
As the primary vehicles for discussion, we will be examining the short story The Hammer of God, by G.K. Chesterton, and the article The Guilty Vicarage by W.H. Auden (links below). We will use these two readings to inform our discussion, but we encourage participants to come prepared to discuss their favorites as well.

We ask that each participant bring a dish or drink to share. The menu theme is “Killer Recipes,” so bring your best, drop-dead, crowd-pleasing dish (or beverage) to share. When you sign up, indicate whether you'll be bringing an appetizer, main, side, or beverage. (The dessert category is full!) This event will be held in the home of one of our members.
